Aviation Week's 2026 Purchase Planning Handbook puts an equipped Pilatus PC-12 PRO at $6,475,000, with a suggested base price of $5,800,000. Pilatus does not publish a price list, so those are trade-press figures, and a dealer quote is the only number that counts for a purchase.

The PC-12 is the single-engine turboprop that carries a cabin full of people and cargo from short runways. This guide covers what it costs to buy, what it burns and how many are flying, and it says where we have no sourced number.

PC-12 Price: What the Handbook Says

Pilatus PC-12 PRO price figures, Aviation Week 2026
FigureAmount
Equipped price$6,475,000
Suggested base price$5,800,000
AOPA aircraft guide, new price$5 million (undated guide entry)

The handbook's equipped price assumes a typical customer configuration, and the base price is a starting point before options. AOPA's aircraft guide lists an older figure of $5 million. Treat all three as references and not quotes. We found no sourced sample of used PC-12 asking prices, so this page does not give a used median. Used prices depend on the model generation, hours, engine status and avionics, so check dealer listings and get an appraisal.

The PC-12 is an FAR 23 airplane with a pressurized cabin. Payload with full fuel is 988 pounds, which means a full cabin and a full tank do not go together. AOPA calls the PC-12 a "stately multipurpose utility vehicle" that can be set up as a six-place executive airplane, an 11-seat shuttle or a cargo hauler.

What It Burns

The handbook lists fuel flow in pounds per hour: 269 pounds an hour at long-range cruise (225 knots true airspeed at FL 300) and 463 pounds an hour at high-speed cruise (290 knots at FL 240). At roughly 6.7 pounds per US gallon of Jet A, that is about 40 gallons an hour at long-range cruise and about 69 gallons an hour at high speed.

Example fuel cost per flight hour (example prices, not quotes)
Jet A priceLong-range cruise (about 40 gal/h)High-speed cruise (about 69 gal/h)
$5 per gallon$200$345
$6 per gallon$240$414
$7 per gallon$280$483

The prices are examples chosen to show the arithmetic. Fuel is only one line: engine reserves, maintenance, insurance, hangar and crew costs vary by operator and we publish no averages we cannot source. The handbook lists the engine inspection interval at 5,000 hours.

The handbook's mission figures give the fuel and time for a trip with four passengers. The dollar column is our arithmetic at one example fuel price, which is not a quote.

How Many Are Flying

The FAA register lists 1,440 PC-12 aircraft as of 13 October 2026, and 1,436 hold a valid registration. By registry label, 831 are PC-12/47E (the NG and NGX models), 386 are PC-12/45, 125 are PC-12/47, 64 are PC-12/47G and 34 carry the plain PC-12 label. Of those with a usable build year, 115 date from the 1990s, 468 from the 2000s, 424 from the 2010s and 302 from the 2020s so far. A further 131 records have a blank or invalid build year.

LLCs hold 901 of the registrations (62.6%) and corporations 302 (21.0%). Co-owned aircraft are 142 (9.9%), government owners 35, non-citizen corporations 32 and individuals only 23 (1.6%). The register records the owner type, not how the airplane is used, so it cannot say how many are fractional or charter aircraft. Texas (124), Utah (123), Florida (105), California (101) and Colorado (92) lead the state table by registration address, and Delaware (64) is a registration-address effect from LLCs. AOPA notes that fractional operator PlaneSense alone flies a fleet of 35 PC-12NGs.

Accident Record: Counts, Not Rates

The NTSB database lists 45 accidents involving PC-12 aircraft from 2000 through 2025. Of those, 21 were fatal, with 102 deaths in total. The yearly count runs from none to five, and there were two in 2025. These are counts, not rates: the NTSB file holds no flying hours by model, and the fleet grew over those years. They do not make the PC-12 safe or unsafe, and they cannot be compared with other aircraft without hours.

PC-12 and Its Rivals

The same handbook lists other single-engine turboprops: the Daher TBM 960 at $5,620,630 equipped and the TBM 980 at $5,793,630, the Epic E1000 at $5,100,000, the Piper M700 at $4,500,000 and the Beechcraft Denali at $7,950,000. The TBMs are faster and carry fewer people, and the PC-12 has the larger cabin. For the next step down, see the Piper PA-46 Malibu and M-class guide, the Cessna Caravan guide, and the Cirrus Vision Jet guide. For an overview of the whole market, see the guide to the types of planes.

Paying for One

At this price, financing and ownership structure are a decision for a dealer, an aviation lender and a tax adviser, and we have no sourced loan terms to quote. If you are earlier in your flying career, our guide to paying for pilot training covers the first steps.
